City of Brockton Down Payment Assistance Program: Partnered with the Brockton Redevelopment Authority and Neighbor Works Housing Solutions, this program provides up to $15,000 in financial assistance through a zero-interest deferred loan for eligible first-time homebuyers purchasing single or two-family homes in Brockton. Approval for funding is based on the assistance needed at mortgage closing, subject to availability.
City of Boston Downpayment Assistant Program: The ONE+Boston Homebuyer Program offers low fixed interest rates and access to down payment and closing-cost assistance for income-eligible, first-time homebuyers purchasing residential properties in Boston. To qualify, individuals must attend a Homebuying 101 class, obtain a pre-approval from participating mortgage lenders, and meet program income and asset limits.
City of Fall River Down Payment Assistant Program: Providing assistance of up to $10,000, this program supports eligible homebuyers in Fall River with down payment and closing costs for properties within the city limits. Applicants must meet income eligibility requirements and demonstrate creditworthiness.
City of New Bedford Down Payment Assistance Programs: Through the Office of Housing and Community Development, several programs offer funding for owner-occupied and investor-owned residential properties in New Bedford. The “Neighborhoods First” First Time Homebuyer Program offers down payment and closing cost assistance, as well as rehabilitation assistance up to $40,000.00, to income-eligible individuals purchasing a home.
Massachusetts Housing Partnership (MHP) “ONE” Program: Helping income-eligible first-time homebuyers qualify for higher mortgage amounts, this program reduces monthly mortgage payments and eliminates the need for Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) for 1 – 3 unit homes within Massachusetts.
Mass Housing Programs Down Payment Assistance Program: MassHousing provides down payment assistance in the form of a second mortgage loan, with eligibility determined by MassHousing-approved lenders, offering up to 10% of a home’s purchase price, up to either $50,000 or $30,000, depending on location of where you’re buying.
Neighbor Works Housing Solutions Down Payment Assistant Program: NeighborWorks Housing Solutions provides homebuyer counseling and assistance to navigate various down payment assistance programs available in Massachusetts, facilitating the process from start to finish.
Lift Up Homeownership: The Lift Up Homeownership program offers down-payment and closing-cost assistance to people of color buying their first home.
